County Councilwoman Amy Drake has made out-of-state campaign help a key issue in her 2026 primary against Matthew Clayton. But Drake’s own 2022 campaign finance reports show her campaign also paid out-of-state vendors.
Drake’s 2022 CFA-4s show at least two out-of-state payments, including one to Majority Strategies, a Texas firm, and another Arkansas vendor for campaign services.

The Texas firm Drake hired was not a minor vendor. According to the company’s own website, Majority Strategies has worked with more than 8,000 campaigns and clients in every state, across races ranging from local and countywide contests to statewide campaigns, congressional races, and U.S. Senate contests.
Majority Strategies claims that in 2024 it delivered more than 64.7 million pieces of mail across nearly 2,100 print projects in 44 states for more than 440 clients and campaigns. They also claim they delivered more than 1.3 billion digital impressions for more than 2,600 campaigns and clients in all 50 states.
So Drake’s campaign did not simply hire a consultant from outside Indiana. Drake paid for a national Republican political operation whose business is influencing elections across the country, including local contests.
Drake’s records show out-of-state payments. The Texas firm she hired markets itself as a nationwide political operation with clients in local, countywide, statewide and national races. Yet Drake is asking voters to treat out-of-state campaign help as a problem when they are not working for her campaign.
