BREAKING: The Indiana State Police (ISP) have confirmed they are actively investigating the St. Joseph County Commissioner’s Ducomb Center controversy reported earlier last year. Redress South Bend obtained Case Number 24ISPC010841 and received confirmation from ISP that the case is directly linked to the ongoing investigation into the Ducomb Center. However, due to stringent department policies, ISP declined to identify any individuals or suspects involved, including whether or not Sharon McBride is part of the active investigation.
This investigation follows allegations discussed during a public County Commissioners’ meeting in February 2024. The allegations center around concerns regarding operations at the Ducomb Center. Disclosed to the public at a 02/20/24 Board of Commissioner's Meeting, Sharon McBride stands accused of allegations such as:
Staffing Issues
Ghost Employment
Overtime Abuse
Improper Credit Card Usage
Improper Financial Transactions
Training Issues
Failure to Follow County Policies
Failure to Follow Required Chain of Command
Failure to Follow Worker’s Compensation Policy
(these accusations were first listed by WNDU on 02/23/24, view their article here)
Two Active ISP Investigations
While the focus of this investigation involves the Ducomb Center (and Sharon McBride), this is not the only ongoing ISP probe involving Sharon McBride. A separate case (25ISPC000535) connected to Sharon McBride, involves allegations of election fraud, tax fraud, and mortgage fraud tied to residency disputes. ISP has confirmed this investigation is also active.
