We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Odynski for dedicating his time and energy to recount this experience by sharing his perspective on the events. Additionally, we express our appreciation to Former 2nd District Councilman Henry Davis, Jr., for undertaking the role of host. Councilman Davis consistently demonstrates his unwavering dedication to serving as a voice and a leader in our community.
The events surrounding Cyjarron (CJ) Odynski's escape from the Juvenile Justice Center (JJC) have raised numerous questions and concerns. While he was serving a 120-day sentence, CJ was permitted to attend a South Bend Cubs game on July 26th, 2024. During his time at the game, reports suggest that CJ acquired a cell phone, arranged transportation, and eluded probation officers, subsequently remaining at large for several days. This period of evasion culminated tragically when CJ allegedly shot and killed his friend on July 30th, 2024.
This series of events prompts several critical inquiries:
How promptly were CJ’s parents informed of his escape from JJC custody?
Was there prior awareness at the JJC that CJ posed a flight risk?
Furthermore, did CJ’s parents consent to his participation in the BridgeLink Program?
Watch the full interview with CJ's father, Corey Odynski to have these questions answered.
